Exercises

Exercise is considered safe during pregnancy especially when you have an established exercise routine. Discuss your workout with your healthcare provider.

It is recommended that pregnant women get at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise each week.

Moderate-intensity means you are moving hard enough to raise your heart rate and start sweating but can still carry a conversation while exercising. If you can still sing while you exercise, move a little more to reach the right intensity.

If you are new to exercise, start out slowly and gradually increase your activity.

We recommend:

  • Walking
  • Swimming
  • Jogging
  • Water workouts
  • Stationary bicycling
  • Yoga
  • Pilates
